Visiting Assistant Professor of Computer Science - Military Veterans

The Computer Science Department at Hamilton College invites applications for a non-tenure-track position at the rank of Visiting Instructor or Visiting Assistant Professor, beginning either January 1, 2025, or July 1, 2025. This is an initial 1.5- or one-year appointment (through June 30, 2026), with the potential to be renewed for an additional year. While we will consider all areas of specialization; candidates with interest in an applied area of systems (such as programming languages, operating systems, graphics, or security) or artificial intelligence (such as natural language processing, computer vision, or machine learning) are particularly encouraged to apply. We expect candidates to be able to participate across the curriculum from introductory courses in computing to the senior program. We are seeking candidates who can demonstrate their experience in teaching or working with diverse student populations. The Computer Science Department faculty have a range of scholarly and teaching interests. Faculty maintain active research collaborations, many of which integrate the involvement of undergraduate students. The faculty regularly attend academic conferences and often include participation of undergraduate students at conferences. The position requires a Ph.D. in Computer Science or closely related field; we will also consider candidates with ABD. The teaching load for this position is five courses per year. The expected salary range for this position is $94,975 to $98,100.
