Maintenance Material Specialist III - Military Veterans

The Maintenance job family is responsible for planning, scheduling, and organizing the efficient operation and performance of work assignments. Coordinates with various departments to achieve optimum utilization of operation resources and effectively achieve production improvements through usage of industry standard methodologies.

This position will support the Work Execution process through support of planning, directing, and activity coordination of work to accommodate corrective and preventive maintenance and quality documentation for Plant Operations.

This position shall be performed under the day-to-day direction, control, and supervision of WTCC.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/TASKS

  • Maintain current training, certification, and development requirements.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records, including tracking stock levels and conducting regular inventory checks.
  • Material Receiving: Receive incoming materials, verify quantities and quality, and ensure proper documentation and storage.
  • Material Handling: Organize and store materials in designated locations within the warehouse, ensuring proper labeling and handling to prevent damage or loss.
  • Material Request (MR) Fulfillment: Pick and Stage materials requested via the MR process according to project need, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Compliance: Follow established warehouse safety protocols and comply with relevant processes and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Reporting: Generate reports on inventory levels, order status, and warehouse performance to support decision-making and provide accurate data to support project material needs.
  • Documentation: Maintain proper documentation, such as delivery records, Material requests, to ensure alignment with the project's configuration management control requirements.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate with other departments, such as procurement and shipping, to ensure smooth operations and resolve any issues or discrepancies.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
  • Catalog CMMS Maintenance and Operations Spare Parts based on approved Material Service Order Forms to align with material catalog requirements in the CMMS.
  • Adhere to a published CMMS cataloging standard.
  • Conduct quality control checks on the work of Warehousing craft team members, offering guidance and assistance to resolve nay issues that arise.
  • Expedited tracking and reporting of spares requisitions, services requisition, purchase order award and delivery status as requested.
  • Receives balance into the CMMS.
  • Performs the physical inventory balance and reconciliations and reporting.
  • Initiation of LDDR's (Loss, Damage, Destruction Report) when required.
  • Some support for department procedure change control may be required
  • Support the Waste Treatment Plant Nuclear Safety Quality Culture by emphasizing the values of safety and quality in the performance of work in order to protect self, others, and the environment

REQUIREMENTS/SPECIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree business, engineering, construction management, economics and 6 years' experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), or similar Inventory Management Systems. Possess the ability to perform vital and detail warehousing material control functions. Knowledge of a variety of operating activities such as purchasing, requisitioning, expediting, material control.

OR

Associates degree business, engineering, construction management, economics and 8 years' experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), or similar Inventory Management Systems. Possess the ability to perform vital and detail material control functions. Knowledge of a variety of operating activities such as purchasing, requisitioning, expediting, material control.

OR

High School Diploma/GED and 10 years' experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), or similar Inventory Management Systems. Possess the ability to perform vital and detail material control functions. Knowledge of a variety of operating activities such as purchasing, requisitioning, expediting, material control.

Preferred:

Material Management/Procurement experience in the DOE / ISMS / VPP / Commercial Nuclear environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

(EFNM) Exposed Field Non-Manual- Performs desk work, including writing, computer workstation processes, and telephone operation. Arranges for and/or performs presentations, oral reports, planning meetings, and other formal and informal contacts, requiring long periods of sitting. Oversees field activities through inspections, testing and equipment operations, which requires walking, standing, bending, and turning along with wearing of personal protective equipment. Occasional loading, transport, and unloading of tools and/or supplies specific to an activity.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $99,193.03 - $154,255.09 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)

This position is located at the Construction Site (22 miles north of Richland) and works a 4 x 10 schedule, M-Th, 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy (DOE) badge for access to the Hanford site.
