Position Description The University of Washington (UW) School of Pharmacy (SOP) invites applications for the Associate Dean of Diversity Equity and Inclusion (ADDEI). The position is a full-time (1.0 FTE), 12-month, faculty position at the rank of Associate or Full Professor (tenure track). The anticipated start date for this position is on or before July 1, 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to join a top 10 School of Pharmacy, at a nationally renowned academic medical center, and a global top 10 research and teaching university. As a member of the school's executive leadership team, the ADDEI will provide strategic leadership and oversight of the DEI operations and activities of the School of Pharmacy. The UWSOP operations include a world class PharmD program, Graduate programs in Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmaceutics and Pharmacy and Undergraduate education. The School of Pharmacy also has a vibrant research environment. The successful applicant will work closely with the three departments, students, and the Dean's office. The UWSOP is in Seattle, Washington, one of the most progressive, innovative, and entrepreneurial communities in the country. Seattle hosts many centers of excellence for a wide range of patient care and biomedical research. The ADDEI will lead the DEI activities in the school including recruitment and retention, serve as a member of the School's Executive Committee, and serve in other committees at the school and university, as required. The ADDEI will provide oversight to the Departments, Office of Professional Pharmacy Education and to the Dean's office on issues concerning DEI in Program Operations, Academic Affairs, Pedagogy, Assessment and Research Programs with primary responsibility of facilitating the execution of the SOP DEI strategic plan and in developing policies and best practices for using DEI lens in the school operations. The ADDEI reports to the Dean concerning administrative responsibilities and the Chair of the Department at which their primary appointment is for faculty responsibilities. In addition to administrative responsibilities, the successful candidate will be expected to teach in the didactic and/or experiential components of the PharmD program, advise students and student organizations, engage in professional service, and conduct scholarly activity. This position will demonstrate a strong understanding and background in increasing diversity in the scientific workforce, pharmaceutical sciences, and/or in pharmacy practice, and commitment to excellence in research and teaching, advocacy to advance DEI, and scholarship The School of Pharmacy is based in an integrated academic medical center, with the Schools of Medicine, Nursing, Dentistry, Public Health, and Social Work, inclusive of multiple health professional training programs and a robust Center for Interprofessional Education, Practice and Research. Annual Salary The base salary range for this position will be $12,500 - 18,750 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. Other compensation associated with this position will include a monthly salary supplement for the administrative role. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Candidates must hold a PharmD or a PhD in pharmacy or a related field (or foreign equivalent) from an accredited institution Have experience commensurate with Associate or Full Professor rank.
