Key Job Responsibilities





  • Troubleshoots, maintains, repairs or rebuilds mechanical machinery and equipment as needed.


  • May perform basic electrical duties under the supervision of a licensed electrician.


  • May perform lubricator / utility duties as required.


  • Receives work assignment, obtain tools and proceed to work site.


  • Dismantles machine or equipment partially or completely and marking parts as required for facilitating reassembly.


  • Diagnoses source of trouble and remedies by repairing, replacing or adjusting mechanical or hydraulic parts as needed.


  • Cleans parts and lubricates as needed.


  • Completely overhauls machine when necessary.


  • Studies and comprehends various hydraulic/electrical/pneumatic schematics. Tracing systems for various functions to locate source of problem. Repairs Mechanical/Electrical equipment and high pressure spindle coolant systems. Checks and adjusts hydraulic and pneumatic systems.


  • Works in conjunction with Electrician on motors, control devices and other components of similar complexity including conduit and wiring as needed.  Leveling, securing and connecting as required.  Expedites the making of repair parts, check and maintain proper lube and coolant systems.


  • Drills, reams, taps, files and scrapes parts as needed to obtain proper fit and operation.  Use arbor press and press parts together as necessary.  May improvise parts or tools.  Lays out work for welding, positioning of holes and other similar layout work. 


  • Reassembles parts, fitting, adjusting, timing, leveling and aligning for proper mechanical and hydraulic functioning. Obtains required parts from storeroom or submits requisition to foreman as required. Performs preventative maintenance duties. Times machine for sequence of operation. Periodically aligns and levels machines when needed. 


  • Repairs all types of machine tools, fabricating machines, mechanical and hydraulic presses, winding and testing machines along with other mechanical / hydraulic equipment. 


  • Rebuilds high speed spindles for gear grinders, rebuilds ball screws.  


  • Determines and maintains level of stock for commonly utilized repair parts. Checks catalog when needed and requisitions parts.   


  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area including equipment, and performs all assignments in a safe manner in accordance with established procedures. 




Qualifications/Requirements





  • 5+ years of Machine Repair experience.     Journeyman Certificate - Machine Repair is a preference.


  • Prior Mechanical Machine Repair experience preferred.   Basic Electrical experience is needed.


  • Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems/components.


  • Previous Preventive Maintenance experience.


  • Blueprint and Schematic Reading experience.


  • Must be able to communicate well within a team structure.


  • Available for work approximately 40 hours per week.


  • Ability to work 1st shift.


  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to multi-task and be flexible.


  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality always.


  • Team oriented.


  • May be asked to work weekends.    Ability to work weekends as needed.

Benefits:





  • Starting wage is $32.98 / hour.


  • Shift premium Available for off shift roles.


  • Vacation and personal time after 6 months of service.


  • Insurance after 75 days of service.

The Komatsu North America Mining Distribution and Service group is a critical part of our Komatsu global organization.  We, sell, install, service, provide parts and rebuild equipment, as well as provide digital solutions for our customers.  In the United States, we have a presence in 16 states across the US with 30 primary sites.  We have approximately 1,200 employees.
