Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Buyer.  This position is ONSITE M-F,  and located at our Omaha NE Eaton location.   

 

Eaton is a global intelligent power management company. Power Distribution and Controls Assemblies (PDCA) is a market leader in power distribution in countless applications. We manufacture metal clad, and gas insulated switchgear that supports data centers, utility companies, and various industrial applications.

 

In the role you will help plan, and procure a large variety of complex materials and products to effectively support production requirements for our operation. You’ll have the chance to help develop and improve processes by working with cross functional teams. Additionally, your skills will strengthen supplier relations by negotiating price and setting clear delivery expectations. You are the first step of ensuring that our customers receive a quality product, on time, and that exceeds their expectations. You’ll leverage data to analyze for trends within multiple markets and internal situations and provide key insights to improve performance measures.

 

The expected annual salary range for this role is $65250.0 - $95700.0 a year.

What you’ll do:



In this role:

  • Develop, coordinate, and manage on-going supplier relationships with key suppliers.
  • Locate and select new and alternate sources of supply to meet the production requirements of the plant.
  • Prepare and communicate product specifications to vendors for bid as appropriate and negotiate with the most favorable bidder(s) considering costs, quality, delivery, etc.
  • Award and administer purchase orders and agreements in accordance with established company policies and procedures.
  • Prepare data and reports as required pertaining to on-time delivery, supplier performance, usage/spend, and shortages.
  • Recommend continuous improvement in cost reduction, quality and delivery.
  • Support engineering, production, accounting, sales and quality with any projects or problems.
  • Review delivery requirements and expedites when necessary.
  • Analyze material requirements and inventory in order to maintain on-time delivery and targeted inventory levels.
  • Analyze key inventory control measures to identify trends and opportunities for improvement

Qualifications:



Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in purchasing role
  • No relocation is being offered. Only candidates currently residing TODAY within a 50-mile radius of the following Eaton locations: Omaha Nebraska will be considered.   Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without company sponsorship now or in the future. 
     

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Supply Chain
  • International Sourcing Experience
  • Experience in a Manufacturing purchasing environment
