Please review the following job description:

  • Responsible for developing, building and maintaining data platforms using bare metal infrastructure for running OS and Big data applications.
  • Design and implement fault tolerant systems (High Availability, Disaster Recovery) and creating a cloud-native enterprise data platform that drives real-time decision-making.
  • Define and operationalize the data platform, and map relevant use cases for OS and/or Big Data applications.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve deployment pipelines for infrastructure, applications and data. Maintain and ensure operational metadata (logs, performance metrics, etc.) are available for diagnostics.
  • Build architecture for data and/or Big Data Platforms and distributed systems. Create automated solutions to deliver analytical capabilities and build new data pipelines.
  • Analyze information to determine business needs from requests and implement effective technical solutions by providing problem analysis and resolution in a timely manner and explain and interpret complex, difficult, or sensitive information.
  • Take a new perspective on existing solutions to solve problems of moderate to high complexity and exercise judgment based on the analysis (e.g. modeling, testing, etc.) of multiple sources of information.
  • Lead small data engineering projects with manageable risks and resource requirements; plays significant roles in larger, more complex initiatives.

Requirements

  • Must have Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering or related technical field.
  • Must have 5 years of progressive experience in data engineering or IT consulting positions performing/utilizing the following:
    • Informatica Data Engineering Integration (Formerly Big data Management) for Big Data environments
    • Architecting Informatica DEI platform to support 15K+ daily jobs and to meet customer SLA.
    • Administration of Hadoop echo system products.
    • Utilizing experience with: Informatica DEI, Cloudera Hadoop, Hive, HDFS, Ranger, SQL, Data Warehousing, AIX, LINUX, Oracle, Shell Scripts, and ServiceNow.
  • Position may be eligible to work hybrid/remotely but is based out of and reports to Truist offices in Winston-Salem, NC.  Must be available to travel to Winston-Salem, NC regularly for meetings and reviews with manager and project teams within 24-hours’ notice.
