What You Can Expect
As the Project Controls Office (PCO) Leader (Project Controls Director) based in Houston, TX you will lead a team supporting the delivery of ENGIE's North America Flexible Generation (FlexGen) projects. You will work within the Project Delivery team serving as a source of truth regarding progress and costs across our projects. You will manage a staff focused on consistent development, implementation, measuring, monitoring, controlling, and reporting of project costs and progress. You will be a key piece of our Project Delivery organization tasked with accurately reporting project progress and costs using best practices and standard tools while driving continuous improvement through lessons learned (return on experience) shared across our team to increase our productivity and the quality of our projects.
Reporting to the VP, Project Delivery your primary duties encompass:
- Leads a project controls team consisting of project analysts and schedule specialists
- Manages the day-to-day activities and workload of the PCO staff in support of all FlexGen projects and the Project Delivery team's objectives
- Coordinates and liaises with ENGIE's and the Business Unit's Industrial Project Oversight, Investment Oversight, Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, and other functional teams as appropriate
- Hires, trains, and develops the PCO staff; Develops staffing plans to support the PCO and Project Delivery team's objectives
- Develops, implements, and monitors critical Project Delivery KPIs using dashboards and analysis of data maintained in our management information systems including Procore, Coupa, and SAP
- Develops, maintains, and improves template documents used to manage projects such as Project Schedules, WBS structures, and periodic reports with the support of ENGIE group policies, procedures, guidance, and existing templates
- Carries out other duties as assigned
What You'll Bring
- Bachelors degree in a related financial or technical discipline is required
- Minimum ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in project controls related to physical/construction projects
- Exemplary interpersonal skills with a proven ability to manage and lead a project controls team
- The ability to be flexible and adjust to changing business and project conditions, develop and present alternative solutions to problems, and recommend a course of action to achieve Project Delivery and PCO objectives
- A solid competency in project controls and earned value management
- An excellent working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Primavera P6, MS Project, and Procore
Additional Details
- This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy; 3 days in office
- Must be available to travel domestically / internationally up to 10% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips
- An ability to exhibit flexibility which may require late night and/or weekend attention and/or short notice travel to address project related issues
- Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license/clean driving record
- Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
- This position consist of 5% of outdoor work, while performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions
Compensation
Salary Range: $128,400 - $196,765 USD annually
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
