Job Summary/Objective:
The Lean Engineer II is responsible for leading cross-functional projects designed to analyze and design sequence of operations and work flows to improve efficiencies. The Lean Engineer II will lead multiple projects and apply continuous improvement techniques leveraging Six Sigma and Lean methodologies. This role will use Quality and Lean tools to solve problems (DMAIC), build new capabilities. This position is a change agent who challenges organizational leaders to drive continuous improvements; remove organizational barriers to continuous improvement processes.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead multiple projects, applying continuous improvement techniques leveraging Six Sigma and Lean methodologies to solve problems (DMAIC) and build new capabilities.
• Assist the Lean Manager and/or conduct studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems.
• Facilitate and Co-facilitate Kaizen events as appropriate to expand skills in driving continuous improvements in operations and office areas including effective preparation and follow-up.
• Develop and implement control plans, improve processes, equipment improvement modifications, and revisions to operating processes and procedures.
• Interface with other Value Streams to identify cross functional improvement opportunities and drive high quality and efficient processes.
• Train and mobilize problem solving teams and supporting groups to streamline processes.
• Share best practices with other site Senior/Lean Engineers and develop coordinated plans.

Minimum Education Level: Bachelor's
Specialized Degree: Engineering
Certificates: •Green Belt certification required; Lean or Six Sigma (Southwire Lean certification for internal candidates)
Years of Experience: Minimum of 3 years of successful leadership in executing continuous improvement/Lean/Six Sigma efforts and enabling efficiency, effectiveness, and tangible financial benefit.
Travel: Domestic
% of Time: Up to 25%

Years of Experience: 5+
Field of Expertise: Minimum of 5 years of successful leadership in executing continuous improvement/Lean/Six Sigma efforts and enabling efficiency, effectiveness, and tangible financial benefit.
