CSfC Network Engineer - Military Veterans

Job Summary:

As a Network Engineer, you will need to have hands-on experience in establishing, managing, and optimizing enterprise virtual environments, including tasks such as establishing virtual storage area network (VSAN) clusters, optimizing Virtual Machines for virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) instant clones, and ensuring user data persistence. This position is hybrid (onsite/remote) and requires travel and work in the following work locations/areas: Fayetteville-NC, Oahu-Hawaii, Fort Lewis-Washington State, Germany, South Korea, and the Southwest Asia region. Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship is required
  • Must possess Active Secret security clearance
  • This position is hybrid (onsite/remote) and requires presence at designated work locations.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 50%

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Information Technology, Network Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a similar technical discipline.
  • Current govt IAT II Certification (e.g., CCNA, Security +)
  • Already have or be able to obtain one of the following Computing Environment Certifications- MD-101, MD-102, AZ-104, CCNA, Server+, NetApp.
  • Certifications. Possesses one of the following- CCNP, VMware Certified Professional, Data Center Virtualization. Microsoft Virtualization Certifications (Azure/Cloud). Citrix Certified Associate, Virtualization (CCA-V). Red Hat Certified Specialist in Virtualization. Or similar vendor virtualization certifications.
  • Must be familiar with govt organizational structure as it relates to Network Enterprise Operations, navigating firewalls, govt services integration, and govt certificate routing requirements.
  • 10 years minimum of related technical experience
  • Must have at least 4 years of Active Directory experience
  • Experience with the administration of enterprise VDI Desktop services technologies such as VMware
  • Must have experience with a wide range of networking devices, technologies, and enclaves such as TACLANEs, SIPRNet, NIPRNet, VLANs, ACLs, Cisco ASAs, and Cisco NGFW

Desirable Qualifications/Nice to Haves:

• Previous experience with Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) systems
• VMWare Certification
• Experience configuring IPv6 and IPv4/IPv6(Dual stack)
• Experience working in classified and unclassified distributed work environment architectures and systems
• Experience working with Microsoft FSLogix and VMware Dynamic Environment Manager (DEM) for user data and setting persistency

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise in implementing, designing, and optimizing enterprise global-enterprise VDI environments.
  • Work with the technical staff to Implement and oversee backup plans and ensure backup and restore functions, including testing.
  • Ensure the proper setup of hosts and virtual servers within a vCenter environment.
  • Work with technical staff to Incorporate integration of APIs and scripts as needed to enhance the functionality of an enterprise Commercial Solution for Classified (CSfC) solution.
  • Work with technical leads to establish, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
  • Under guidance from the technical lead, update and modify virtualized desktop pools.
  • As needed, collaborate with team members, customers, and vendors to define, analyze, and provide solutions for voice, data, and image communications requirements.
  • Ensure the enterprise environment's health and monitoring tools are set up and fully functional.
  • Coordinated with the technical lead and technical staff to implement systems automation to improve efficiency, within scope.
  • In the event of a severe system outage, be prepared to provide on-call troubleshooting and touch-labor support within a data center.
  • Work with security team and technical personnel to perform remediation of vulnerabilities to maintain system health.
  • Review system log files using SIEM tools to ensure the enterprise system maintains service availability.
  • Assist the technical team with the safe implementation of system and feature updates.
  • Coordinate with Security Team in the application of patches, security updates, and STIGS to systems as needed.
  • Implement network management systems to monitor, diagnose, control, and measure the performance of multiple communication networks.
  • Provide Tier III level request fulfillment and incident resolution.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with security controls.
  • Work with site and overall project technical SMEs to optimize the virtualization environment to enhance overall system performance.
  • As needed, collaborate with third-party support and service vendors as necessary.
