Technicians and other related service roles at John Deere dealerships play a critical role in providing exceptional service and support to our customers by performing diagnostics, repairs, maintenance, and technical support on a wide range of agricultural, construction, and turf equipment. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to delivering top-tier customer satisfaction and upholding the quality standards synonymous with the John Deere brand.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct equipment inspections, diagnostics, and troubleshooting to identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
- Perform repairs and maintenance tasks on John Deere equipment, including tractors, harvesters, loaders, excavators, and mowers, in accordance with technical manuals and dealership procedures.
- Utilize specialized tools and equipment to complete service and repair work, ensuring the highest level of workmanship and safety standards.
- Provide excellent customer service by effectively communicating repair processes, timelines, and recommendations to customers and internal team members.
- Accurately document all service and repair activities, including parts usage, labor hours, and diagnostic findings, using dealership management systems.
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a formal technical training program in diesel, mechanical, or agricultural equipment is preferred.
- Proven experience as a technician or mechanic, preferably in the agricultural or heavy equipment industry.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems in heavy equipment, particularly John Deere products.
- Strong understanding of diagnostic tools, software, and equipment, including the ability to interpret and act upon diagnostic codes and reports.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and parts (up to 50 pounds) as needed.
- Forklift operation certification for moving heavy parts.
- Experience with John Deere Service ADVISOR™ or similar repair and diagnostic information systems
- Knowledge of warranties and parts return procedures!
- This position may require occasional travel for field service calls or training purposes.
- Compliance with all safety and environmental regulations is essential for this role.
