Job Overview:


AIM World Services is seeking a High Voltage Electrical Master with extensive experience in high-voltage electrical systems to support installation, maintenance, and repair of complex electrical and instrumentation systems. The High Voltage Electrical Master will perform duties that require high levels of technical expertise, problem-solving, and adherence to safety protocols. This role may also include supervising a crew and providing guidance on high-voltage operations.



Key Responsibilities:





  • Perform all phases of installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical and instrumentation systems, including high-voltage systems.


  • Install wire systems and rigid conduit; troubleshoot and repair AC/DC motors, relays, solenoids, and terminal strips.


  • Operate equipment such as boom lifts, scissor lifts, forklifts, and skid steers.


  • Handle emergency call-ins for outages and ensure quick resolution.


  • Install, maintain, and repair transformers, converters, regulators, switches, circuit breakers, and other substation components.


  • Perform switching and maintenance in substations, switchyards, pad-mounted equipment, and underground vaults.


  • Use various testing equipment, such as transformer ratio testers, hi-pot testers, breaker testing equipment, and relay test instruments, for routine maintenance and system testing.


  • Maintain accurate records related to inspections, repairs, and system performance.


  • Dismantle, repair, and replace primary electrical components, ensuring proper functioning and safety standards are met.


  • Maintain and operate power plant equipment including pumps, compressors, boilers, and turbines.


  • Read and interpret blueprints, electrical diagrams, technical manuals, and regulatory codes to execute installations and repairs.


  • Conduct preventative maintenance and scheduled inspections to ensure systems and equipment are operating efficiently and in compliance with safety regulations.


  • Prepare equipment for repair, order necessary parts, and document maintenance activities.


  • Provide leadership and supervision to assigned crew members as needed.




Required Qualifications:





  • High school diploma or GED equivalent, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


  • 10-12 years of related experience in high-voltage electrical systems, installation, and maintenance.


  • Master license/certificate or equivalent is required.


  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical equipment manuals, electrical drawings, and engineering standards.


  • Experience operating machinery such as boom lifts, forklifts, and skid steers.


  • Strong knowledge of backup generators and emergency tie-ins.


  • Proficiency with electrical test equipment, including transformer testers, breaker testing equipment, and relay test instruments.


  • Ability to maintain accurate records and perform quality control on electrical systems.




Preferred Skills:





  • Experience in supervising and leading electrical crews.


  • Knowledge of safety protocols and ability to work with strict adherence to safety standards in high-voltage environments.


  • Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical systems and provide quick and efficient repairs.
