Job Summary and Qualifications

The Senior Consultant will leverage experience, creativity and training to best solve business issues and assist in strategic planning for our clients. It is essential that the candidate is able to work in a collaborative, unstructured environment. In this position they will work alongside with other experienced consultants in a project-based environment to help our clients execute their strategies and improve business operations Experienced and competent to take on work assignments that are advanced/complex in nature, design and develop direction of work product; provide advice/direction in primary area of expertise;. An expert practitioner within their field of practice: MEDITECH.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES(The essential responsibilities and accountabilities of this position including interactions with other departments and outside vendors, if applicable, in PRIORITY order.) Experience with installation of clinical electronic healthcare systems. Working knowledge of Health Information Systems preferred, (MEDITECH). Experience in defining project requirements and resource needs Experience in leading project team or teams 

  • Leads team, project tasks and assignments with little to no supervision 
  • Supervise during project life cycle any intermediate or junior level staff, or any sub-contracted personnel assigned to the project team. 
  • Able to lead teams during project planning, assessment/workflow process, direct build progress of teams (or own team), coordinate testing plans, Parallel processes (user acceptance testing) and go live activities. 
  • Leads and engage others in project management process, including: issue & risk management, project plan management, conversion management, communications, equipment evaluation and status reporting. 
  •  Able to assimilate feedback from clients and actively drive process improvement and culture change as implemented/approved by leadership 
  • Uses professional knowledge and experience to advise the client on optimal workflows and system functions. Openly shares this knowledge with peers, via Peer to Peer training. Able to develop documentation and project content for internal or external utilization. 
  • Develop a wide array of client deliverables including, but not limited to, requirements documents, functional design documents, status reports, client presentations, etc. 

Develop internal training, knowledge share content for peer to peer mentoring/knowledge share.Assist in project team employee review and assessment processes. Has excellent communication skills verbally and in writing, customer service focus, is able to work independently or on a project team. Must be able to work in a professional and high client focused environment. 

Project Expectations: 

  • Drives client communication process to develop and enhance client understanding of the project Best Practice, project timelines, tasks, client commitment, risk/issue impacts and mitigation. 
  • Leads team workflow and gap analysis, independently completes documentation and/or peer review documentation utilizing department standards. 
  • Independently monitors own work and work of others for accuracy and thoroughness. Mentors others for documentation accuracy, leading through mentorship. 
  • Independently and within teams is able to share knowledge to project teams, clients and drive the process change with clients and within a team. 
  • Prioritizes own tasks and assists peers with task identification and documentation. 
  • Understands project deliverables and level of effort to complete. Participates in the strategic planning with clients or utilizes project knowledge in the statement of work development process 
  • May drive or participate to incorporate Lessons Learned into department practice/methodology, including process improvement.. 

What qualifications you will need:

  • College Graduate preferred
  • Seven or more years of relevant work experience

Other/Special Qualifications

  • Certifications with MEDITECH EHR systems/applications – MEDITECH READY certifications required or completed within 6 months of hire 
  • Proficient in one or more HCIS system module (Nursing, Pharmacy, OR, EDM, Order Entry, HIM, and/or Patient Safety, etc.) 
  • Healthcare license preferred. Pharmacy/Clinical Specialty (Nursing, RT, PhaTech, PT, RHITT, HIM etc.) 
  • Intermediate to Expert ability to work in Office suite products: Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, and Power Point
