Position Specific Description
NextEra Analytics is looking for an experienced software engineering manager to lead and grow a team of high performing software engineers. The engineering manager will play a critical role in overseeing the development and implementation of new products from concept through production. The ideal candidate will possess a strong engineering background, exceptional leadership abilities, and excellent communication skills.
- Be both highly technical and an effective people manager
- Mentor and develop team members, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback.
- Lead teams that deliver on multiple products and projects
- Oversee all phases of product development, from initial concept through to production release.
- Collaborate with product team and business stakeholders to drive the execution of the product roadmap
- Provide technical leadership in the design and development of new products.
- Experience developing and architecting AWS native software products at scale.
- Measure the impact of your team and set clear expectations and goals
- Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product development processes.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and regulations to ensure company products remain competitive.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Computer Science
- 5+ years of software engineering work experience
- Demonstrated experience managing technical teams, including performance management
- Familiarity of cloud computing, primarily AWS
- Exposure to CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code processes
Job Overview
Employees in this role manage a team of experienced software developers in design, implementation, and delivery activities and is responsible for coordinating all internal and external product development. This position provides strategic direction and technical oversight to the software development team.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
• Defines product strategy and guides the development and enhancement of software products for internal and external customers
• Develops and executes on group project schedules, including prioritizing tasks and allocating resources to maximize return on investment
• Works closely with the Marketing, Research and Development, and Operations groups to create and maintain production-ready software
• Collaborates with the Operational Engineering team to deploy new applications to customers
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned

The estimated base pay for this position is $143,200.00to $214,800.00per year. Starting pay will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, experience, qualifications, job-related and industry knowledge and skills and education/training.
