Mortenson is currently seeking an experienced Quality Manager - Power Delivery Group to lead, manage, document, monitor, and analyze the quality system on multiple projects; and lead necessary corrective and preventive actions.
Locations: Minneapolis, Kansas City, San Antonio, Denver, Dallas
Traveling Position: 25-50%
Requirements:
Incorporate and lead Mortenson's quality system on multiple projects:
- This will require working in close collaboration across the organization with design, operations, and project teams. Implement, manage, and maintain an effective quality management program.
- Develop, assess, and report on quality performance metrics.
- Manage/monitor quality defects, follow-up actions and trends.
- Drive a performance-based culture designed to meet and exceed department and team goals while creating and fostering a healthy team environment.
- Support and guide employee learning and development in the area of Quality.
- Lead project Quality Assessments and/or train other team members to complete assessments.
- General Quality System: Work closely with other Quality leaders and teams to ensure efficient and effective implementation of Quality System.
- Support the development and delivery of training for general Quality processes and technical overview scopes (Electrical, etc.).
- Assist adjacent teams that play a critical role in Quality management-design phase managers, design engineers, project engineers, field engineers, superintendents.
- Travel 50%
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in the design, engineering, construction industry, heavy industry, utilities or renewable energy generation with experience leading a project's or facility's quality system
- Knowledge of one or more quality systems: i.e., Malcolm Baldridge, ISO 9000, Lean, Kaizen, Army Corps of Engineers, TQM, continuous improvement, value streams, etc.
- Communicate professionally and effectively across multiple internal and external audiences
- Build, motivate, and lead diverse and growing teams
- Participate and contribute to industry standardization efforts
- Evaluate business needs and develop appropriate solutions in an unconventional environment
- Experience with issue management, and inspection of work put in place
- Current driver's license
Preferred Skills:
- Auditor certification (CQM, CQI, ISO 9001, or ASQ)
- Experience/knowledge of International Building Code (IBC), building envelope requirements, and/or National Electrical Code - NFPA 70
- Experience/knowledge of Renewable Energy Construction and/or electrical infrastructure in generation and grid assets
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other science or mathematical related degree, or equivalent combination of education and technical/field experience demonstrated over multiple years of related work experience
- Quality roles including three or more years of quality experience helping to build and maintain Quality systems and culture of Quality
