As a Machine Manager, you will oversee the production line of a paper machine, ensuring all safety, quality, productivity, environmental, cost, and employee development objectives are met. Key responsibilities include leading production efforts, managing machine process engineers, and collaborating with shift managers and crews.
The role emphasizes continuous improvement, developing and implementing budgets, and coordinating maintenance during scheduled downtime. You will engage with internal teams, such as operators, finance, and external vendors and customers. The position requires a strategic thinker, that is capable of motivating teams, managing performance, and driving process efficiencies.
A military officer from the Navy or Coast Guard, especially with experience managing pressure vessels, steam systems, pumps, and machinery, would excel in this role. The operational discipline, leadership, and ability to work under pressure developed in a military setting align perfectly with managing a complex production line.
Your experience handling large-scale systems and technical machinery will ensure you can make informed decisions that enhance productivity and safety. Base salary, $120 -$130K with full benefits to include medical, dental, vision coverage, and a 401k. It is possible that they will offer some relocation assistance.
