Job Type: Short Term Casual Bargaining Unit: Regular/Temporary: Temporary End Date if Temporary: 06/30/2025 Hours Per Week: 20 Standard Work Schedule: Building: Salary Range: $30.00 - $30.00 The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Position Summary Established in July 2022, Columbia Global (CG) brings together major initiatives from across the university to advance knowledge and foster global engagement to address complex global challenges. Through interdisciplinary research, education, collaboration, and directed action, Columbia Global fosters groundbreaking scholarship, facilitates leadership development, advances cutting-edge thinking, and implements projects designed for social impact. The Development team is focused on building a fundraising strategy that prioritizes the diversification of funding sources to ensure the financial sustainability of Columbia Global. This includes the creation of a pipeline of institutional (corporate, foundation and government) funders. The Student Administrative Worker (SAW) will play an important role in creating and researching a pipeline of institutional donors for Columbia Global and its entities. Through these activities, the SAW will support the Development team in identifying and soliciting prospective institutional donors to support the organization???s general operations and educational, research and social impact initiatives led by CG. The SAW will work closely with the Senior Director of Development and Development Officer. The SAW will be expected to work 20 hours per week in accordance with the department???s hybrid work schedule. This position will be funded through June 30, 2025. Responsibilities Identify and conduct prospect research on US-based and International Corporations, Foundations and Governments whose philanthropic priorities align with Columbia Global. Create a functional excel database to house and share this information across the organization. Recommend strategic engagement opportunities with viable prospective donors. Provide input on an analysis of the most promising funder opportunities. Draft prospect and donor briefings. Draft reports for ongoing projects utilizing data from multiple sources to highlight impact and learnings using a results-based approach. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor???s degree and enrollment in a Columbia University graduate degree program. Preferred Qualifications General knowledge of fundraising best practice. Knowledge and experience conducting donor research or pipeline building. Experience with Excel. Experience managing projects. Superior organizational and planning skills.
