Available Title(s): 270-NNFACULTY - Assistant Professor, 280-NNFACULTY - Associate Professor, 290-NNFACULTY - Professor Business Title: Tenure-Track [Open Rank] Professor in Management Information Systems, Carson College of Business Employee Type: Faculty Position Term: 9 Month - Summer Position Details: The Opportunity The Department of Management, Information Systems, and Entrepreneurship (MISE) in the Carson College of Business (CCB) at Washington State University (WSU) in Pullman, WA is seeking a new colleague for a permanent, full-time, 9-month, tenure-track position in Management Information Systems, starting in August 2025. We will consider candidates at any rank but preference will be given to Associate or Full Professors. Job Duties : Our new colleague will be expected to teach in face-to-face or online programs, meaningfully contribute to enhancing the research reputation of the department, take an active role working with doctoral students, and make service contributions to the department, college, university, and profession, commensurate with rank. This is a 9-month academic appointment teaching twelve (12) credit hours per year (typically two three-credit courses in each of the fall and spring semesters). Required Qualifications Required Qualifications for All Ranks: An earned doctorate in Management Information Systems or a closely related field, by the employment start date. Demonstrated record of conducting impactful, quality, and novel research, as evidenced by published articles, submitted manuscripts, or working papers. Demonstrated experience teaching undergraduate or graduate classes face-to-face or online. Experience using tools to facilitate robust participation, critical thinking, and a sense of belonging in classrooms. Experience contributing to a collaborative and supportive work environment through teamwork, mentoring, or committee work. Required Qualifications for Associate Professor: Six (6) years of experience as an Assistant Professor or equivalent is required to be considered as an Associate Professor. A record of teaching, research, and service accomplishments consistent with the appointment of rank as an Associate Professor at WSU as specified in the College's Tenure and Promotion Guidelines . Required Qualifications for Full Professor: Six (6) years of experience as an Associate Professor or equivalent is required to be considered as a Full Professor. A record of teaching, research, and service accomplishments consistent with the appointment of rank as a Professor at WSU as specified in the College's Tenure and Promotion Guidelines . Preferred Qualifications Preferred Qualifications for All Ranks: A record consistent with an Associate or Full Professor. Ability to teach courses in one or more of the following areas: Database Management and Information Security. Experience with interactive teaching methods (e.g., case-based or other active learning approaches). We are open to various MIS research areas and methodologies that complement our current capabilities while staying within the behavioral research traditions. We are particularly interested in scholars whose work aligns with that of existing research faculty and who have a record of working with doctoral students. Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement. Demonstrated well-rounded knowledge of business development gained from relevant work experience. Summer research support is 1/9th of the base salary and is awarded for the first five years for candidates appointed as Assistant Professors and for the first three years for candidates appointed as Associate or Full Professors. In accordance with RCW 49.58.110 , the above salaries reflect the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.
