Job Summary and Qualifications
Schedule: the position works Monday - Friday but will be required to work in office the 5th, 6th, and 7th day of each month even if those days fall on weekend days.
Salary Range: $65,000 - $99,000
As the Assistant Controller in our accounting department, you will be a key member of the finance team. This role is responsible for the day-to-day management of the general ledger and the reconciliation of the balance sheet accounts on a monthly-basis.
- You will take a lead role in key accounting processes, such as fixed assets, leases, physician payments, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, joint ventures, semi-annual inventory audits, and assignments as delegated by leadership.
- You will perform assigned closing entries, procedures, and reviews each month, which fall on days 3 through 8 of every month regardless of the day of the week or weekend these dates fall on.
- You will foster an environment that encourages open communication within the department and between hospital management by participating in hospital-wide committees or work groups.
- You will be responsible for completing all SOX quarterly and semi-annual audits to ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley and GAAP requirements.
- You will participate in the preparation of the annual budget, Medicare cost report workpapers, tax work-papers, and ad hoc projects.
- 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
- 2 years accounting and/ or related experience required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
