The expected annual salary range for this role is $80250.03 - $117700.04 a year. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
What you’ll do:
As the Manufacturing Engineer – Machining, you will help evolve technical machining center(s) and CNC machining, identifying, designing, and implementing process improvements in machining area using: CNC programs, Lean tools, and GD&T. This involves providing technical support and identify opportunities through engagement with production team to improve site capabilities, safety, quality, and utilization. This role will work with tool room and production supervisors, using a proactive problem-solving approach, concerning operational challenges. Utilizing Lean principles, you will implement projects and best practices to maximize CNC work center efficiency.
Day-to-day activities include:
- Implementation – Supervise the validation of new program roll out and communicate the process effectively with supervisors, quality, and production personnel. Assist in the installation and implementation of new CNC equipment by creating programs and work holding fixtures. Lead new CNC machines qualification and machine rebuild runoffs. Train CNC machine operators on new machining technologies.
- CNC Programming – Program and assist with set ups as required of CNC machines using long hand G-Code, Mastercam and other software. Provide programming support on production jobs. Identify and order new tooling needs for the creation or improvement of programs as needed. Design new jigs, tools, fixtures, and provide technical direction to production personnel. Redesign existing tooling, update fixture drawings, and revise records, as required by changes in manufacturing processes.
- Quality – Investigate quality problems relative to machining and provide technical direction to implement corrective actions and error proofing for future production. Perform root cause analysis for failure investigations and other data analysis tasks, make data-driven decisions. Apply quality standards to ensure compliance with certification requirements in plant applications. Troubleshoot process problems as related to productivity, quality, and safety
- Maintenance – Analyze requirements, resource needs, and schedules to execute schedule and PM execution. Collaborate with Maintenance Team to improve equipment uptime and equipment upgrades.

The ideal candidate is able to communicate with various levels of an organization, including providing positive and constructive feedback to employees, peers, and management. Additionally, establishing and maintaining relationships with internal and external contacts will be essential to this role. This role will act as a technical expert for the Machining Department and follow a high standard of professional ethics, to ensure the integrity of the department and the work performed. An understanding of Lean Six Sigma practices and strong analytic skills (including Excel and data analysis) will be key in driving continuous improvement. We are looking for candidates who are diverse in their backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences, and who can bring fresh and innovative ideas to our team.
Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum two (2) years’ Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship now or in the future
- No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Amarillo, TX will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline from an accredited institution
- Experience in Machining Applications, including CNC Programming, Tooling, Methods Development and Fixtures
- Technical knowledge in statistical controls
- Experience with SAP
