Position Specific Description

This position is in the Environmental Licensing & Permitting Section of the Corporate Environmental Services Department supporting development opportunities for NextEra Energy Resources and other NextEra Energy affiliates. It requires familiarity with federal, state, and/or local environmental permitting and regulations specifically in WA, OR, ID, and MT. Working from a home office located in Portland, Oregon, or a surrounding state (WA, ID, MT) is preferred, and be willing to travel up to 25% of the time when needed.
Applicant must be able to support multiple projects in various stages of development with multifaceted environmental and regulatory issues. The successful candidate must maintain current knowledge of pertinent national and state-level environmental policies and regulations, and can effectively interface with internal and external customers, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders. They must help ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations, as well as company policies.
Responsibilities:
- Supports the company's compliance with environmental requirements
- Performs comprehensive environmental due diligence reviews
- Assures implementation of necessary environmental monitoring and reporting systems and timely and accurate reports and notifications to agencies per legal requirements.
- Leads, with limited direction, projects and prepares necessary environmental documents.
- Leads, with limited direction, negotiations with appropriate stakeholders to obtain approvals, licenses, and permits meeting operational needs of our clients.
- Supports environmental aspects of company operations, such as compliance, reporting, monitoring, remediation, and environmental permitting functions
- Monitors and analyzes environmental policies and regulations that affect the company and its customers
- Resolves critical environmental non-conformance regulatory matters through negotiations with compliance authorities and operating entities to the company's best interest.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned

The estimated base pay for this position is $90,400.00to $135,600.00per year. Starting pay will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, experience, qualifications, job-related and industry knowledge and skills and education/training.
