Tool and Die Maker - Military Veterans

Our client supplies, engineers, and manufactures high purity precious metals and brazing alloys for unique customer applications spanning a multitude of markets in the manufacturing industry.

They are looking for a Tool and Die Maker in Tinley Park, IL. In this role, you would analyze specifications, lay out metal stock, set up and operate machine tools and fit and assemble parts to fabricate and repair metalworking dies, cutting tools, jigs and fixtures, gauges, and machinists hand tools by performing the following:

- Studies specifications such as blueprints, sketches, models, and descriptions and visualizes product to determine materials, tooling and machines required to fabricate parts

- Designs tooling to conform to customer part specifications

- Computes dimensions, plans layout and determines assembly method and sequence of operations

- Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, surface, and tool grinders to machine parts

- Verifies conformance of machine parts to customer specifications

- Participate in the operation and set-up of forming machines and stamping presses

- Perform geometric shop calculations.

- Examine standard or previously used dies, tools, jigs and fixtures to recommend design modifications regarding construction and function of part

- Rework tooling details and perform skilled fitting, timing, and adjusting as needed to develop piece parts that match blueprint specifications

Monday ? Friday, 7am to 330pm

Base salary, $55 - $60K, a 401k plan is outstanding, plus a discretionary bonus plan.
