Primary ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Manager of Cost Management will lead a team responsible for developing methodologies and tools to assess internal cost drivers and conduct competitive assessments. This role involves close collaboration with departments such as Commercial, Finance, Supply Chain, Inbound Transportation, and IT to gather relevant data and insights. This role will propose and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness, conduct in-depth analysis of market rates, and provide data-driven recommendations to support strategic decision-making and business expansion. Essential FunctionsDUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work closely with leadership to understand organizational goals and align cost management strategies with strategic growth initiatives.
- Lead a team responsible for developing methodologies and tools to assess internal cost drivers and competitive assessments.
- Collaborate with Commercial, Finance, Supply Chain, Inbound Transportation, IT, and other departments to gather relevant data and insights.
- Propose and implement improvements to existing processes and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of market rates to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for cost optimization.
- Provide data-driven recommendations to support decision-making and drive sustainable business expansion.
- Utilize PowerBI, SQL, Python, and other relevant tools to build robust analytics and reporting systems.
- Implement and maintain data governance practices to uphold data integrity.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in cost management.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, AptitudeSKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
- Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate both verbal and written to all levels of management.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to manage and lead a team.
- Data driven individual with creativity and ability to interpret data to make business recommendations.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and/or tasks simultaneously with acute attention to detail.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset.
- Strong proficiency in PowerBI, SQL, and Python for data analysis and visualization.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and lead projects.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Data Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in cost management, financial analysis, or related fields.
- Minimum of 4 years of managerial experience.
