Job Type: Staff Job Description: The Office of Student Affairs on KCU's Kansas City campus works to develop an inclusive, equitable campus community with robust opportunities for KCU students to grow, learn, and achieve. The Assistant Director of Student Life is a key part of a highly collaborative team, charged with accurate recordkeeping and accounting while serving as the first point of contact for student support. The team will rely on the Assistant Director of Student Life to maintain a foundation of accurate information that can be used to develop and improve programs, coach and recognize student leaders, and contribute positively to the student experience. This individual will represent the University favorably and in accordance with KCU's core values. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Club Recordkeeping Collect documentation for approval and evaluation of club activities, working closely with associate director Catalog and report on club activities, service hours, and leadership roles Work with Registrar to obtain appropriate information for honor society eligibility, graduation awards, and other student recognition efforts Finance Serve as a key point of contact for club and departmental purchasing, invoicing, and contracts through Workday and Office of Finance Coach student treasurers in balancing their records Collect deposits of cash and checks from student club leaders Send balance statements to student club treasurers monthly Work with Office of Finance to reconcile expenditures and deposits Student Support Serve as the first point of contact for general Student Affairs phone calls, e-mails, and drop-ins Assist students in navigating University resources Maintain calendars for Student Activity Center Manage club and departmental supplies and storage areas Provide support in event management and logistics for New Student Orientation activities (primarily in June and August), as well as additional special events and projects Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business, communications, education, or related field Two years' experience in higher education, leadership development, or related field Good judgement and communication skills Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Ability to handle sensitive information with care and confidentiality Analytical mindset Precise and efficient data entry skills Highly organized with excellent follow-through Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, and Excel Ability to build credibility with students, faculty, administrators, and other stakeholders Familiarity with web-based tools such as Canvas, SurveyMonkey, Wufoo, and Workday is a plus Understanding of accounting principles is a plus Ability to serve the University and its students in a professional, caring, and effective manner Equal Opportunity Employer KCU is committed to promoting an equal employment opportunity workplace.
