DevOps Team Leader - Automation Products Group (APG) - Military Veterans

The role:

We are seeking a hands-on DevOps team leader to join the Automation Products Group (APG) CTO organization. You will play a crucial role in leading the creation of a new DevOps team serving a variety of market leading SmartFactory ® applications from Applied Material's Automation Products Group.

This role will require you to be fully hands-on, leading by coding, to improve customer value and drive the growth of our software business.

Our group:

APG’s CTO organization focuses on defining and executing the technology vision, strategy, and innovation within the Automation Products Group. As part of this team, you will collaborate with other experts in software engineering, product management, and business development to identify opportunities, drive innovation, and deliver cutting-edge solutions for our customers in the Semiconductor, Pharma and other high-tech industries.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the creation of a new DevOps team, transitioning from siloed monoliths to agile, modular, and streamlined software offerings. Design, implement, and deploy DevOps, DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-enabled engineering environments. Contribute to the development of new software offerings and support organizational and architectural changes required for transitioning to VPC deployments and SaaS versions of existing products. Provide architectural and code contributions to new product initiatives and support the adoption of modern operational standards and technologies. Provide technical leadership to the DevOps team and directly manage its members.

Skills and Experience:


  • Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical engineering B.Sc or MSc. + 3 years (minimum) hands-on experience in software development

  • At least 2 years of experience in the management of DevOps Teams with a proven track record in building modern-era, cloud-enabled software organizations

  • Expertise in Cloud Native & Hybrid-Cloud Software Architectures, Event-Driven, Micro-Service Architectures, as well as observability and remote monitoring.

  • Experience with DevOps, DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud deployment scenarios.

  • Strong leadership and people management skills.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities in a global, English-first language environment.
