OCU-Technical-Mechanical Engineering Technical Support Specialist-2nd Shift

We are looking for a talented Mechanical Engineering Technical Support Specialist to join our team for our location in Seymour, IN.


In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:




  • Disassembles and rebuilds production and experimental engines and components; measures and records measurements.


  • Configures and operates data acquisition systems; analyzes and reviews data for appropriateness.


  • Installs engines and components in test cells or test rigs.


  • Fabricates necessary piping, tubing, and brackets from prints and drawings.


  • Diagnoses engine and test cell problems.


  • Executes written work requests and reports on results in a specified format.


  • Supports technicians and engineers as required.


  • Understands and applies appropriate Company and department rules and guidelines to work.


  • Interfaces with customers, suppliers, engineers, and other functions.


  • Participates in the maintenance of quality procedures.


  • Participates in improvement projects.


  • Maintains cleanliness within the workplace.


  • Knows and complies with departmental safety policies and procedures.


  • Demonstrates confidentiality as required.


  • Participates in self- and team-audits and associated corrective action.


  • Performs other miscellaneous duties, as required, to get the job done.




Compensation and Benefits


Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.


RESPONSIBILITIES


To be successful in this role you will need the following:




  • High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.


  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.


  • Requires some work experience and intermediate level knowledge obtained through training or on-the-job experience.


  • Mechanical background/aptitude strongly preferred.


  • Required to pass a hands-on Mechanical Test.


  • Possession of personal hand tools is highly recommended.


  • Ability to work 2nd Shift: M - F, 3 PM – 11:30 PM


  • Pay starting at $23.75/HR or higher, based on experience level + $1.50/HR Shift Differential for 2nd.

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent required




Experience




  • Requires some work experience and intermediate level knowledge obtained through training or on-the-job experience.


  • Minimal relevant experience required. School to work program experience in relevant field preferred.
