Amentum is seeking a Crane & Hoist Technician 4, to join our team in Waukesha, WI.
This position is responsible for maintaining cranes, hoist, and related equipment in an operating and functional condition. Duties may include any of the following: electrical repairs or installations, plumbing, welding, machine servicing, and general electrical/mechanical maintenance.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnoses, troubleshoots, and repairs hoists, cranes and gantry systems.
- Performs PMs on hoists and cranes.
- Perform electrical and mechanical repairs on hoists and cranes.
- Properly document all work done on cranes and hoists.
- Troubleshoots and repairs basic electrical issues.
- Assists in the movement of machines/fixtures, materials, and equipment as required.
- Performs preventive maintenance on mechanical systems control and operating systems as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Responds and provides service and feedback to the customer on all work orders while assuring compliance to codes, regulations and industry standards.
- Understands company policies and enforces safety regulations.
- Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout procedures and wearing PPE as required.
- Operates a variety of equipment such as hand tools, laptop computers and diagnostic hardware to perform work.
- Maintains a strict schedule in order to be successful in the assignment yet demonstrates flexibility in the day-to-day activities and scheduling for the benefit of the customer.
- Other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor.
Minimum Requirements:
- Five years of experience performing equipment maintenance with exposure to crane and hoist maintenance in an industrial environment or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have the ability to work in an aerial lift or scissor lift at heights up to 30 feet or higher.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
- Position involves working in environments where mechanical equipment are being installed, tested, analyzed/monitored, operated, and/or maintained.
- Equipment may be loud and noisy or have exposed moving components.
- Such positions may involve routine lifting to 50 pounds, regular handling, grasping, kneeling and carrying, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.
Additional Information:
- Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
- This position may require a valid Driver's License.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
- This position will require the ability to obtain a security access badge at our client's location.
- This position may require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules.
Special Requirements:
- Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
- Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.
- Ability to work overtime, holidays or weekends when needed. Ability to work in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree or technical certification in industrial electrical/mechanical, or related Facility Maintenance discipline.
