Job Summary and Qualifications
- Proficient in all Ultrasound and Vascular procedures.
- Have a thorough knowledge of all positioning techniques, technical factors and anatomical factors necessary to obtain quality images.
- Assists the radiologist and or other physicians as necessary.
- Maintains a good working relationship with all staff members.
- Demonstrates flexibility in work schedule as required. (i.e. alternate shifts, call rotation, etc.)
- Demonstrates initiative (Can work independent without need of constant supervision or direction.)
- Responsible (Completes assigned tasks, duties, etc.)
- Punctual (Arrives at work on time on a consistent basis) and Dependable
- Observes universal precautions and other health and safety rules of the department as well as those of the Medical Center.
- Participates in continuing education essential the field and for the betterment of the patient.
- Demonstrates good patient care skills.
- Communicates in a positive compassionate manor to all age groups.
- Able to modify job duties as necessary.
- Appropriately assesses the patient’s pain and involves the patient in effective management of the pain using age appropriate interventions.
- Maintain HIPPA compliance.
- Maintain Imaging QA requirements. (<1% error rate)
- Consistently ensures prompt timely service to all outpatients.
- Monitors Patient Tracker consistently to make sure patients are not waiting excessively.
- Works to always meet or exceed patient’s expectation for fast efficient and compassionate service.
- Maintains clean environment.
- Cleans equipment as required.
- Sanitizes equipment between each patient contact.
- Consistently uses kind words, salutations, smiles, etc promoting a friendly approach during all patient interactions.
- Consistently wears name badge while at work. (<1% non compliance)
- Takes call according to schedule.
- Always wears name badge.
- Completes all work before clocking out and leaving.
- Ability to perform all common Ultrasound/Vascular imaging procedures without assistance.
- Proficient in use of Medi-Tech Radiology Information System
- Proficient in use of current U/S systems and related equipment.
- Knowledge of location of and use of MSDS, Emergency Response Manual, Crash Cart, O2 Shut off, Fire extinguishers, Exits
- Competent in PACS usage.
- Assists in training of students and ancillary personnel as required.
- Interacts professionally with patient/family.
- Is acquainted with local fire and safety regulations.
- Have knowledge of hospital policies.
- Understand functions of the other departments.
- Compile and maintain quality assurance data as appropriate.
- Able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and related criteria appropriate to the following age groups: neonate, pediatric, adolescent, geriatric and general population.
- Able to modify job duties and communicate with customers in an age appropriate manner.
- Appropriately assesses the patient’s pain and involves the patient in effective management of the pain using age appropriate interventions.
- Excellent oral and written skills
- Basic Computer Skills
- Ability to review exams for technical accuracy
- Ability to present exams to the interpreting physician in a concise and professional manner.
- Ability to communicate pertinent data to the ordering provider, nurse, or other care giver as appropriate
- Ability to perform exams with accuracy and efficiency in a variety of work conditions.
- Able to flex work schedules as needed to meet the needs of the department
- Ability to offer Compassionate care to all patients
- Ability to work as part of a team
- High School Graduate / GED
- Basic Cardiac Life Support, or CPR for Healthcare Providers must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, or Registered Vascular Technician (RVT) must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
