Scheduled Hours 37.5 Position Summary Develops, negotiates, maintains and updates contracts for Pharmaceutical products and services. Works with the School of Medicine to identify products and services to target for contracting, solicits and evaluates proposals, negotiates contracts, and works to secure benchmarking information. Prepares contract information for distribution, filing and publication. Reports on contract and customer service activities. Participates in contract and customer service strategy sessions. Reviews purchase request documents for policy compliance and appropriateness. Specific Commodity: Pharmaceutical Products, Medical Supplies & Equipment, contract responsibility is greater than $500,000,000. Job Description Primary Duties & Responsibilities Contract Management: Negotiation, RFP development and assessment, supplier relationships, business review meetings, identification and target contracting opportunities, monitor contract utilization, review and assess GPO agreements. Purchase Request Document Review: Insures appropriateness of requests, advises departments of cost saving opportunities. Purchase order sign-off authority up to $500,000. Reporting: Develops and reviews spend analysis, prepares and documents cost savings, etc. Customer Service: Establishes and maintains a collaborative relationship with the various organizations at Washington University in St. Louis. Assists departments with pharmaceutical, medical supply and equipment requirements. Troubleshoots issues as they occur. Reviews terms and conditions for external documents as needed. Special Projects: Manages special projects. Performs other duties as assigned. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree and five years of experience in procurement, contracting, business or related field; or combination of education and experience to equal eight years of procurement, contracting, business or related field. Pharmacy Technician's License is a plus. Strong negotiation, analytical and communication skills (verbal and written) and a sensitivity to effectively interacting with a highly diverse campus community. Good organizational skills with ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Working knowledge of personal computers and software such as Excel and Word.    Knowledge of the WorkDay software tool is a plus. Required Qualifications Bachelors degree and five years or more related experience or equivalent education and experience. Grade G15 Salary Range $82,500.00 - $145,200.00 / Annually The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
