Stanford Graduate School of Business Alumni Relations seeks a dedicated team player to join our staff as Alumni Relations Manager, Reunions and Special Events. This position will have the opportunity to work with our incredible alumni volunteers to develop, organize, implement, and manage class-specific reunion events. Working closely with the Director of Reunions and Special Events, you will also take on various projects supporting the overall success of spring reunion weekend and other special events. A highly collaborative role, the ideal candidate will possess strong project management and volunteer management skills, a sense of humor, and a team-oriented approach. This position will report to the Associate Director, Alumni Relations within the External Relations Office. This is a 1-year Fixed-Term full-time, hybrid position with the expectation of being onsite at least two days per week. Your primary responsibilities include*: * Manage all aspects of three to four MBA class reunions, planning large-scale and/or high-level alumni programs and events * Recruit, train, and manage alumni volunteers while setting appropriate expectations around their planning of class-specific reunion events * Support reunion team members with various reunion event assignments as needed * Support other External Relations events as assigned. * Develop contacts and maintain relationships with alumni, faculty, students, staff, and vendors * Evaluate alumni programs and events for satisfaction * Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and cost negotiations for reunion events * Collaborate and coordinate with other departments at the GSB and throughout the University to achieve the goals of alumni programs or projects * Represent the organization to internal and external groups regarding business and program activities To be successful in this position, you will bring: * Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience * Demonstrated experience with volunteer development and oversight * Strong interpersonal, team, and leadership skills; tact and flexibility in working with diverse populations * Positive, can-do attitude * Demonstrated project management experience, including project planning, scheduling, tracking, and budgeting * Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, to professionally represent the University * Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing work for self and volunteers while working independently as well as within a team * Ability to work under pressure and with frequent interruptions; pay attention to details; meet tight deadlines; set priorities; deal with difficult situations and/or individuals while maintaining composure; work independently and in small teams * Computer proficiency and the ability to learn new systems. Knowledge of Stanford systems of Oracle, Marketo, Cvent, and project tools familiarity is a plus. In addition, preferred requirements include the ability to: * Constantly perform desk-based tasks, as well as frequently stand/walk, sit * Occasionally grasp forcefully, use a telephone, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 40 pounds * Obtain and maintain a California Non-commercial Class license The expected pay range for this position is $83,000 to $97,000 per year. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
