Job Description CONTINUITY ANALYST, MIT Emergency Management (EM) , to support EM's vision and mission by utilizing systems and IT solutions to coordinate the development and maintenance of an Institute continuity program. Will work with stakeholders across campus to identify, analyze, prioritize, and promote solutions that make MIT's teaching, research, and public service functions more resilient to minor disruptions, moderate emergencies, and major disasters; collaborate with the director and assistant director on developing continuity plans for all departments/labs/centers; connect continuity plans with relevant emergency management/response plans to increase resiliency Institute-wide; and work with stakeholders in MIT's resiliency sphere to enhance preparedness and resiliency now and into the future. Job Requirements REQUIRED : bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., emergency management, business continuity, information technology, communications, English, public administration, business/management, etc.); at least four years' relevant experience; excellent organizational, interpersonal, public speaking, and written and verbal communication skills; attention to detail; proficiency with Microsoft Office; ability to learn specific systems used by MIT and MIT EM; ability to create visual presentations for a variety of audiences, including senior leadership, and distill technical information; interest in continuity planning and emergency management; discretion and judgment with confidential information/issues; openness to new ideas; and ability to adapt to change, influence others, and work effectively--sometimes with little supervision--under difficult circumstances and changing conditions (e.g., during an emergency or disaster). PREFERRED : basic knowledge of emergency management principles; familiarity with higher education; training in the Incident Command System (ICS) 100, 200, 300, 400 and National Incident Management System (NIMS) 700, 800; master's degree in a related field; and business continuity practitioner certification (or desire to pursue).
