The Leadership and Professional Development Instructional Designer position requires both leadership development expertise and technical instructional design expertise. Applies ADDIE or advanced professional instructional design and technology skills to create highly complex blended learning course designs, that map learning objectives / outcomes to performance data. Builds strong partnerships with staff, faculty, senior leaders and external stakeholders to diagnose client needs. Consults with other Instructional Designers, Learning and OD consultants and Curator to propose professional development learning solutions. Uses leadership development skillset and technical expertise related to learning management systems, multimedia design, assessment systems, communications tools, streaming media platforms, and multimedia creative applications to meet unique, highly complex requirements related to online course design and development. Works on issues that impact future concepts, initiatives and technologies. Analysis of project requirements requires an evaluation of intangibles. Interacts with senior leaders on strategy and direction for function. Functions as systemwide expert on instruction design. Oversees program offerings for the university. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role. For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.
