Position Summary: Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey invites applications for a postdoctoral research position associated with the Center for Advanced Biotechnology and Medicine. A Postdoctoral Associate position is immediately available in the lab of Dr. Eddy Arnold. The Postdoctoral Associate will conduct research studying the structure and function of human viral proteins and polyproteins, including from SARS CoV-2, HIV -1, and an array of viruses that are significant pandemic threats. Determination of the structures of essential viral proteins including polymerases by cryo-electron microscopy and crystallography will contribute to structure-guided drug design. These studies will also lead to insights into fundamental mechanisms of polymerization, inhibition, and resistance. This is a grant-funded appointment contingent upon the continued availability of funds to support it. Minimum Education and Experience: Must hold a Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Structural Biology or a related discipline at the time of appointment.
